Sea Otters are members of the weasel family and have the densest fur of any animal. With 150,000 strands of hair per square inch, it can stay warm even without blubber in the frigid Alaskan sea. A mother sea otter lavishes care upon her pup, cradling it close to her chest away from the cold water. The Tlingit word for Sea Otter is “yaxwch.”
