Blue Crane
The Blue Crane, Grus paradisea, is the national bird of South Africa. It has the most restricted distribution of all fifteen species of cranes. During pair formation, the two birds will run in circles with each other. Then, the male will begin a peculiar dance that involves flinging objects at the female. The female will then also fling objects and dance.
