Black-and-white Warbler
The Black-and-white Warbler is the only member of the genus Mniotilta, which means “moss-plucking.” This monochromatic warbler is found creeping along the limbs of trees, probing for insects with its slightly downcurved bill. They are acrobatic birds that can hang upside-down from branches thanks to their extra-long hind claw and heavier legs than other warblers.
